You're missing the point that, in many cases, black people have to work three times harder than white people even to have a chance of success- and that unlike the response when a white person fails to succeed, which usually attributes that result solely to that individual, the author of this pices demonstrates that the individual failure of a black person is somehow taken as proof that the entire black community has failed, that it proves that no one from that community should ever be hired and that that community deserves to be treated as inferior to the white community.
If Jackie Robinson had been a washout with the Dodgers, Major League Baseball would have taken that as proof that black people should NEVER be given a shot in "The Show". when nobody ever argued that white people were unworthy of a chance in the majors because Bob Uecker was a mediocre player before he became a great announcer.
