You apparently missed Netanyahu saying he wouldn't end the war even IF Hamas released the hostages.

And actually, Israel had frequently launched military attacks on Gaza AND the West Bank- remember, no hostages were being held in the West Bank- before October 7th.

While Hamas should not have done what it did- I've repeatedly said that in my posts on this issue on Medium- Netanyahu's actions are only tangentially related to what Hamas did that day.

And in any case, everyone knows ordinary Gazans are not collectively responsible for what Hamas did, and have no ability to stop Hamas doing anything- we also all know that Netanyahu is obsessed with both making the creation of any Palestinian state- and therefore peace itself- impossible- and with ending Palestinian identity itself by brute force. The man still holds to the delusion that ARABS caused the Dispersal, even though history teaches us that most of it was due to the repressive actions of the Roman and Persian empires.
