Why assume that it was specifically flappers being hated, when what actually changed during the Depression was the public attitudes about wealthy, self-centered people and about frivolity for frivolity's sake- a change in which Roaring Twenties playboy types were just as subject to blowback as the flappers. I seriously doubt it was just the women in that lifestyle who were being frowned upon.
