What good are Sinema or Manchin doing the rest of the party when they are clearly committed to reducing Build Back Better to nothing at all, and when they know that doing that will guarantee a Republican Senate and their own total political irrelevance?

"Free-thinking" is one thing- insisting that everything progressive in Biden's agenda- Build Back Better is the only thing he's proposed that's significantly different than Trump's policies- is simply arrogant bloodymindedness.

If nothing else, I think you'd have to agree that there's no decent reason for Sinema to refuse to have explicitly stated, from the start, what she would and would not accept in BBB.

Is it worth having her if she's only progressive on reproductive choice, if on everything else she won't tolerate anything to the left of post-1994 Bill Clinton?
