We're talking about the same Dennis Miller who thought it was hilarious to play a judge- in the movie WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS- who refused to allow two people who only got married when they were drunk in Vegas to get an annulment, and also thought it was plausible that forcing those two people to stay married for an extended period of time would actually produce a genuine committed relationship that would be emotionally sustainable- in other words, who thought he had the right to use the power of the state to meddle in the lives of random strangers solely in the name of the judge's weirdly wisecracking version of social conservative ideology.
