Valid point about the local infrastructure- a lot of progressives argue that centrist Dems essentially don't think party-building and local infrastructure matters.
Centrist Dems, in my view, have to let go of the idea that they are simply entitled to run the national party and that progressives should never be nominated for any offices about the state legislature- or, at least, to stop treating those state legislative offices as if they are the "participation trophies" of politics, contests that they only tolerate progressives being nominated in because they think standing in those races themselves is somehow beneath their dignity, just as they seem to think party-building and treating local party activists with respect is beneath their dignity.
