To put Switzer's late-life financial difficulties in perspective- a 225$ fine might not sound like much in today's dollars, but when you adjust for inflation, it would be equivalent to $2,429.19 today. For a guy struggling(for reasons he was mainly to blame for) to survive, that would be a big chunk to have to pay out.
