There were no progressives who held Hillary's gender against her- that was a right-wing thing.
The issues progressives did have with her had nothing at all to do with gender- they were about her militarism, her ties to corporate power and Wall Street money, her contempt for grassroots activists and activism, and the years before she won her Senate seat when she worked closely with Bill to get the Democratic Party to appease white backlash sentiments- especially the late Eighties and Nineties canards that single parenthood, abuse of the welfare system, drug use and criminality were overwhelmingly "Black things".
A lot of us simply felt she had NO right to claim to be fighting for Black/Brown/LGBTQ/Poor America after all those years when she gave unquestioning public support to every "devil's bargain" Bill made with the white backlash.
