There was no alternative to lockdowns, masking, and social distancing. And, as it turned out, restricting travel from China made no difference. This was never "just the flu"- 500,000 dead and counting- the death rate is only falling now because Trump is out of office and his failed "I take no responsibility" approach abandoned by his successor.
