There is no way to defend the misery the IDF is inflicting on ordinary Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza from anything remotely like a humane or progressive perspective.

And, given that Hamas is in the position of prominence it's in now largely because Netanyahu started "bolstering" them- his word- to weaken Fatah, the reasonable moderate Palestinian leadership that HAD recognized Israel and was negotiating with it- is it not time to admit that it's impossible for Israel to change the Palestinian leadership for the better by force of arms? That any attempt to do so can only lead to Hamas being replaced by something worse?
