There hasn't been a conflict between Jews and Palestinians OR Jews and Arabs for "thousands of years".

There were long periods when Arabs or Palestinians treated the indigenous Jewish communities of the area far better- it wasn't flawless, but it was far more decent and humane- than European "Christians" treated Jews there.

This was never a perpetual conflict- and the issue with Israel was the subjugation of Palestinians, not some sort of pathological Palestinian or Arab incapability of living in something like peace with Jews.

There was never a Palestinian or Arab Torquemada, Tsar, or Hitler.
