The way the victors in the American Revolution treated Loyalists and their property wasn't massively different than the way the victors in the Cuban Revolution treated wealthy allies of the Batista regime- in both cases, the Loyalists went into exile and had their properties confiscated in the name of the Revolution. There was violent retribution against some of them in the 1780s, just as in 1959.
