The ultimate teaching moment on right-wing anti-choicers was an event some of them staged during the Gulf War in 1991- an antichoice/prowar rally- in a conflict where "Support Our Troops" was a common slogan- where they held up signs saying "Support Our Unborn Troops".
In this, they were-unconsciously, I hope- echoing a song Bertolt Brecht wrote about the abortion ban Hitler imposed early in the Reich- "The Ballad of Paragraph 28, I think it was called"- in which the doctor who is refusing to give a woman a termination sings these lines "You're going to be a lovely little mother/you're going to bear a lump of cannon fodder".
