The only way we can be all together is if all the cultures of this nation are treated as equal and with equal respect. That is why we have the hyphens: they make it clear that we are all American, but there is no single culture that is MORE American than any other. We have always been a multicultural nation and nothing but good comes of giving all of the cultures and peoples of America equal respect.
