The only issue I can take with that statement is, 200 years ago was 1823- not only wasn't women's basketball a thing, or basketball in any sense a thing, but, in the US at least, SPORTS weren't a thing yet.
In 1823, who would James Monroe have been inviting to the White House to congratulate? I don't think anybody was even playing rounders yet at that point.
Not meaning to be a smart-aleck, but I think we do need to be somewhat precise on our chronology on this.
