Inspired by the epic work your grandmother did to help him keep doing his work after the paralysis kicked in-while, presumably, continuing to do all of the work a working-class housewife of the Twenties would be expected to do. Not sure why the resentment you feel towards women in the last sentences of the piece is there, since your grandmother's own sacrifices discredit the idea that men were victimized by women in the flapper era.
