"Make America Great Again" has always been just a code phrase for "Restore Jim Crow". That's why it took the election of the country's first black president- who, while far from flawless, did this country no real harm at all, let alone not coming anywhere close to running it into the ground- to persuade Trump to revive that that old Reagan slogan. It's never been about anything but restoring the acceptance of the lie that this country needs to be run by angry white men to be successful.
