John, there's a difference there between ordinary citizens who happen to be registered GOP, and those in elective office. It's the ones in elective office who will accept no "compromise" from Democrats short of what Bill Clinton did in the Nineties-when he simply gave up on ever trying to regain control of the House or the Senate during his presidency and when he cheerfully signed the racist, classist, pointlessly punitive "welfare reform" bill in 1996, at a ceremony where he had a black single mother on welfare-even though most single mothers on welfare are white- posed on either side of him like slaves at an auction. Nothing could ever be worth reducing a future Democratic presidency to that kind of of systemic betrayal in the future.
