It's never been just an elite who recognize this country is built on structural racism, and you don't get to presume to speak as the official voice of "Real Americans" Black Americans and Brown Americans were here before bogeyman ancestors of most white Americans, Indigenous Americans before all of them- and there have been dissent9ng Americans, secular Americans, progressive/abolitionist/radical/antiracist-antioppression Americans, cis-feminist Americans and LGBTQ+ Americans here the whole time, all contributing to whatever is good in this country just as much as straight white men like you or I ever. The truth is, everyone here IS a "Real American", and there is nothing any more inherently "Real" or "American" about being a "straight" white guy than anybody else.
And I say that as somebody who, by what I assume your standards are, is probably MORE of a "Real American" than you are- I have ancestors on one who crossed the ocean on the Mayflower and on the other side crossed the continent on The Oregon Trail.
There's nothing "Real" or "American in insisting that the contributions of white people are more important than those of anyone else, that teaching tge history of others means not teaching our own- every child in any American school will always learn abour any achievement anybody else ever has, and there is no possibility of white people ever being oppressed due to our skin color.
And it will never do us any harm if whites cease to be a majority- we bring good things to this country, but nothing that nobody else could do just as well.
No harm would come to us of simply being one equal group if people among others, and the rest of the human race doesn't deserve to be treated as something we need to beat back with stick. It's a big, largely good world and you and I have nothing to fear from it.
And there was never a time when we had 'colorblind" teaching, nor a time when everyone was conservative except for the "elites" OR a time when no one in this country ever disagreed on anything and conservatives were considered infallible. But you knew that.
