It does go without saying though, that if Biden's notion of "reaching across the aisle" means he ends up running a presidency that's not a millimeter to the left of Bill Clinton's, that will mean he'll be a failed president, that he won't do anything that helps the Democratic base, and that he won't be able to come up with any real solutions for the nation's problems.
BTW, the Left bears no responsibility for the closeness of the result. It wasn't our fault that Biden looked bland and wooden on the stump, or that he badly bobbled his explanation of his fracking policy, or that he never once defended the progressive ideas- most of which are overwhelmingly popular in the polls- that Trump demonized on the stump.
