I'm saying an eleven year-old kid isn't going to do anything that could justify arresting him- his parents would have had "the talk"about what you have to do, if you're Black, to keep the cops away from you, which is something no white parents ever have to do because cops rarely if ever arrest white kids- you'll recall that about twenty years ago, a white kid in Texas essentially got away with multiple murders because his attorneys argued that he'd been raised with too much privilege to know that he wasn't actually supposed to kill people just because he was in a cranky mood- and, if you've somehow not ever heard this, white authority figures, especially in the South, have been known to liein situations like this.

Please stop treating this as if it's nothing but an intellectual abstraction. This is real, and it led to a real child being arrested for no reason.
