If White America DIDN'T assume that everybody else wants to slaughter us, why would so many of us be obsessed with "tough on crime" policies that are never actually about stopping violence, but simply about trying to make all Black, Brown, Indigenous, Muslim and immigrant people live in fear of the police?

The truth is, none of those groups is any more inherently violent or dangerous than we are- and historically, people of our race-and this is just simple fact- have done far more to the rest of the human race than they've ever done to us.
