I said the Palestinian solidarity community. After what Israel has relentlessly subjected nearly all Palestinians to since 1967, nobody has the right to ask Palestinians themselves to say or do anything, or to agree to the canard that they are the primary instigators of the conflict OR have acted for no reason other than bigotry.
Palestinians are not saints- and I've personally despised Hamas the whole time, though we all know it can't be got rid of by force without causing something worse to emerge pledged to avenge the humiliation, which is why I am so adamant that this conflict can't be ended by humiliating anyone- but it's obscene to insist they have no valid reason for their anger towards Israel and towards Zionist ideology.
Israel is here to stay- its survival is guaranteed no matter what, so it's silly to act as if the country is fighting for its life or ever has been- but something other than Netanyahu's "admit you're wrong and it's all your fault" dynamic has to be found.
Why defend what can never work, Reuben?
