Weirdly enough, it appears that what the Foxtel guy was doing there was a non-romantic variant of "negging", where a man deliberately insults a woman in the belief that this will somehow get her attention in a crowded singles' bar. The Foxtel guy was probably hoping that it would somehow impress this audience that he had no respect for GoT whatsoever. It didn't work any better than it usually does in the singles' bars.
