For some reason, the people who complain about being asked to mask, socially distance and vaccinate, but refuse to do so, put me in mind of this bit from the British "At Last The 1948 Show" broadcast, about how absurd some people can get in exaggerating the hardships they may have faced as youngsters- and in using those exaggerations to justify their lack of empathy with anyone else's suffering and their bizarre conclusion that the don't owe anyone else enough respect to not endanger their health.
