Falter wasn't stopped from crossing the road. He could have crossed before the march arrived. As the article stated, Falter waited UNTIL the march arrived and then tried to disrupt the march by walking through it.
The marchers were no threat to his safety or the safety of anyone who was Jewish- the fact that some of the marchers WERE Jewish- and yes, Jewish anti-Zionists/Jewish critics of Israeli security are just as Jewish as those who identify as "pro-Israel"- proved this fact.
The marchers were not responsible for any decisions the police made that day regarding Falter, or for any of the phraseology the police used towards Falter- we can assume the marchers would find the police use of the phrase "openly Jewish"- if the police actually used that phrase- inflammatory and horrifically offensive.
