Excellent article. Two points in rebuttal to the idiot who rantsponded to you:

1) If Sweden did do alright in its Covid response, it's NOT because it didn't do lockdowns...it's because, unlike the US, Sweden has a fully-funded universal healthcare system that is minimal cost at the point of use, and because that country has many more hospitals per capita than we do as a result.

2) As to the "protect the most-vulnerable populations" strategy the white Right favored: As far as I know no "Red state" ever DID protect the most vulnerable. Anybody have any evidence to suggest elsewise?
