As to Mitch McConnell...it was absolutely, catastrophically stupid for the Democratic Party to both insist on trying to defeat McConnell for re-election and, in the name that goal, trying to do that in the worst possible way-by nominating a conservative, a person whose only apparent qualification for the job was having flown jets in the Marines, whose often sounded like she was running against McConnell from his right. Not only did they know the whole time that that would never work, they plowed massive sums into that contest that could have made the difference in races that were actually winnable, in Iowa and Maine, and now-Dems will need to do massive fundraising to even come close to being competitive in these races- in the Georgia runoffs. It was pointless to try and beat McConnell OR to tryand beat Lindsey Graham. Kentucky and South Care are permanent dead zones for the Democratic Party, and no further sums should be expended on major contests in those states.
