Ah yes, the "nobody has the right to address these issues unless these OTHER issues which have nothing in common with them and about which none of us can do anything" canard.
It was used to smear Jeremy Corbyn- who DID speak out about the Uighurs, an unfortunate people who have it bad but are not treated singularly worse than everyone else on the planet, and whom no one in the West has any capacity to help- and as to poverty, people who are antiracist are also invariably anti-poverty campaigners. As to drugs- we have decades of proof that treating drugs as a criminal justice issue can never make any meaningful difference, we need to decriminalize drugs and then treat drug use as a social and public health issue, which nobody in public life wants to do because you can't look "tough" and "strong" by showing empathy and treating people who use drugs as human beings.
