Again, it is NOT hatred of Jews or a wish for harm of any sort to question Netanyahu's insistence that having the IDF violently end an indefinite number of innocent Gazan civilians lives is justified in the name of the futile, unachievable objective of "crushing Hamas"- the same Hamas Netanyahu spent most of this century "bolstering" (his word) Hamas just to sideline Fatah- you remember Fatah? The ones who were reasonable and who DID compromise?

What happened on Oct 7th WAS horrible- but it's not the only moment in the history of thus conflict that matters, it doesn't invalidate every form of Palestian resistance, it doesn't negate the fact that ordinary Palestinians are largely the victims in this conflict bear no responsibility for the centuries of European Christian antisemitism which culminated Hitler and his willing right-wing berserkers committing the Holocaust.

it doesn't undo the fact that most of the reason this conflict is the result of decades of collective repression and collective punishment the Israeli government has inflicted on ordinary Palestinians, not antisemitism, combined with the Israeli insistence on treating ALL Palestinians as if the conflict is solely their fault and that Palestinians should have to accept the bogus, humiliating pretense that they are incapable of not behaving as anything but irrationally hateful berserkers.

Most people don't hate Jews. Most, I would say, are sick of being told that the only way they can prove that is to treat wiping out Hamas- even though that isn't possible and could only create something worse than Hamas in its place- as the only thing that matters. And really, since trying to do that can achieve anything, why should the world feel obligated to support what Netanyahu is doing in Gaza is doing to innocent Gazans; since it can't make anything better? There is still no way to get to peace without the Palestinians getting a state of their own, and without giving up on the pointless objective of humiliating any Palestinian leadership by making it play the role of the vanquished side in the conflict. Surrender is a useless thing to demand in that part of the world.

And really, what good does it do to try to persuade every Jewish person in the world that everyone else in the world wants you dead when that isn't true, or in making "screw you, world" the organizing principle of your life? Why reduce life to nothing but respiration, retribution on rage? How is that life at all?
