Actually, it's largely a myth that progressives look down on conservatives as people. We don't- and nothing we propose would harm any of you in any meaningful way.

The big difference between progressives and you is that we don't assume everyone else has to be made powerless and subjected to relentless school-bully abuse just for us to be free.

Our basic view is- so long as you accept everyone else as THEY are, you can be you and we can be us- you guys don't have to get all "kiss my ass" about it and you don't have to define freedom as the right to be insensitive jerks.

Is it really asking too ,much that you just leave everybody who isn't like you be, that you just accept that it's everybody else's country as much as yours, and that it's as American to disagree with you as to agree?

You don't need to restrict Black/Brown/Indigenous/Youth voting, and you've got no call to treat votes from those groups as any less legitimate than yours.

You don't need to ban marriage equality or abortion in your states, because neither of those things are your business and neither of them affect you- also, LGBTQ people, as you should know by now, can't stop being LGBTQ and it doesn't in any way affect your life if they don't hide all traces of their personal truth in your presence. People walking down the street kissing or holding hands are just people walking down the street kissing or holding hands, and it's they have just as much right to live life on their terms as you do to live yours.

And really, it's no big deal if people who aren't like you have as much say in this country as you do. They aren't going to use that say to mess you over.
