A Free-Form “Free Write” on my subjective view on on the Netanyahu-Hamas war.

(I speak for no organization on this, these views are solely my own)

It is absolutely clear that the calls for a ceasefire in Gaza are justified.

It is absolutely clear that numerous forms of Palestinian resistance against the repression being inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are justified.

It is also absolutely clear that not EVERYTHING that could be labeled “resistance” is justified

It is absolutely clear that Hamas was wrong to abduct, kill, and possibly rape innocent Israeli civilians, nearly all of whom were secular progressives who not only were not personally responsible for Netanyahu’s years of brutal repression of the people of Gaza and the West Bank, but who, as secular, often anti-Occupation progressives, were exactly the sort of Israeli Jews Netanyahu would have abducted, tortured, and killed if he could get away with that.

It is absolutely clear that Israel, like any other country, has “the right to self-defence”.

It is absolutely clear that citing “the right to self-defence” gives neither Israel NOR any other country an absolute blank check to do anything its leaders see fit to do.

It is absolutely clear that nothing Netanyahu is having done in Gaza now is at all likely to free the Israeli hostages being held there.
